What to Expect/Highlights

International Summer School: Hochschule Bremen / HSB

Study abroad – Explore new cultures – Broaden your horizons

Bremen’s Summer School Program is an excellent opportunity to study and live in Germany. It offers you a unique experience by attending courses at the Hochschule Bremen, participating in international students’ life, and discovering Bremen and exploring Europe. Global in its focus and innovative in its academic approach it presents students and graduates two well-established tracks of courses:

  • a curriculum in German language and culture, law and economics and
  • an English curriculum in “International Business and Cross-Cultural Management”.

The modules in English are an outgrowth of the Transatlantic Business School Alliance (TABSA) and the specific agreement between our international partners teaching in our global classroom.

We have a number of leisure activities planned for our participants and we would like to strongly encourage them to take full advantage of the opportunity of being here and experiencing life in Germany: by learning the language, the culture, the business world, and of course, the beautiful city of Bremen.

Partner Organization/Location

The Hochschule Bremen:

The Hochschule Bremen / HSB is an international University of Applied Sciences with long years of experience and variety of co-operations to universities and partner institutions all over the globe. Its tradition extends right back into the 18th century.

Internationality became the hallmark of HSB. The extraordinary integration of regional tradition with international activities has decisively shaped its profile. In this process the Hochschule Bremen is offering since 1989 an International Summer School program. Its academic format is distinguished by a wide range of courses in cooperation with partner universities worldwide. Right from the start the Summer School is promoted by the German Academic Exchange Service/DAAD with scholarships. Every year about 300 participants from about 40 countries is evidence of the attractiveness and international acceptance of the HSB-International Summer School

Bremen, with its cosmopolitan atmosphere combined with a small town intimacy, offers a unique opportunity to study within an international setting. The time in Bremen is sure to be an unforgettable learning experience.

Who doesn’t know the story of the Bremen Town Musicians from the Grimm collection of fairytales? Yet it is not alone this story that has carried the name of the city throughout the whole world. Bremen – a city looking back on a thousand-year history. Nowhere is this more evident than on the market square, an impressive witness to Bremen’s past. Round the Roland statue, which has symbolized Bremen’s freedom for more than 600 years, you can see the legacy of power and splendour from centuries.

The Gothic Town Hall with its majestic Renaissance facade is centre as well as meeting place. Freedom and independence are hallmarks of which the citizens of Bremen are proud. Tolerance and cosmopolitan point of view underlie the fundamental nature of the city.

Welcome to Bremen!
